4.- Automated inspection with Phased Array and TOFD (ACCD+).

5.- Acoustic Emission.

Mechanical Integrity Analysis

For the analysis of coke drums, CDI has developed the “Fatigue Damage Indicator” (FDI) methodology that, using finite elements, analyzes the fatigue behavior of these pressure vessels considering the point’s cloud generated during a laser mapping inspection. and evaluates the state of stresses that are generated in coke drums subjected to a thermal load. The results issued allow our clients to optimize resources during the decision-making process related to the inspection and repair strategy plan to ensure the structural integrity and operational reliability of these assets.

Automated Cleaning (ACCD)

Automated Cleaning – A remotely deployed; high-pressure water cleaning tool designed to obtain an optimal surface for visual and non-destructive inspection of coke drums.

Sequences:

– Cleaning by the operator with their cutting tool along the coke drum.

– Cleaning with ACCD technology of the circumferential welds of the coke drum.

– Cleaning of Cladding on the body and Cone of those areas that warrant.

– RVI inspection of previous Laser Scanning areas of interest.

Laser Scanning & RVI

Laser Profile – A remotely deployed, laser-based imaging tool designed to profile the inner surface of coke drums “in-line” to accurately and consistently locate and measure vessel distortions.

Sequences:

– Depending on the size of the drums to be scanned, three (3) to four (4) records are taken.

– Then the interpolation or union of all the records is carried out.

– The change in geometry in the Cone must be considered in the record (4).

– The Cone can also be scanned from the bottom of the coke drum.

– Once the scan has been completed, an on-site analysis is carried out to evaluate the areas with the greatest distortions.

Automated Inspection using Penetrant Testing (ACCD) & Remote Visual Inspection (RVI)

FDI results in combination with RVI and Acoustic Emissions (AE) determine weld joints and areas of interest for ACCD.

Automated Inspection using Ultrasound Testing (ACCD+) & Remote Visual Inspection (RVI)

The results of the Penetrant Testing (ACCD) and Acoustic Emissions (AE) will allow the areas to be inspected with ultrasound (ACCD+) to be identified with certainty.
